Kaman’s DIT-5200L offers high sensitivity, linearity and thermal stability.

Kaman Precision Products announced its DIT-5200L noncontact differential impedance transducer. The model is capable of subnanometer resolution with sensitivity up to 10v/mil, 39 mV/μm and linearity up to 0.1% full range. Built to IPC A-160 Class 3 standards, the fully analog transducer features a 9-pin mini-D connector for the I/O and input power connections that are reverse voltage protected. The product’s electronics are packaged in a CE marked, die cast aluminum box with MCX style sensor connections. The model features eddy current balanced bridge technology, which contains two coils in the inductive bridge housed in two separate sensors. As the target moves closer to one sensor, this increases the impedance in one leg of the inductive bridge and decreases it in the other. This push-pull effect amplifies the linear output-per-displacement and eliminates the need for summation amplifiers. Ultimately, this provides thermal stability, namely, ±.03% FS/°C and ±.005% FS/°C at null.
